Primus is extending their Rush tribute tour, titled A Tribute to Kings, into 2022 with a handful of new dates. Primus will perform Rush’s entire 1977 album A Farewell To Kings followed by a set of their own material. The second leg of A Tribute to Kings will launch April 15 in Oklahoma City and wrap June 25 in Las Vegas. Battles, Black Mountain, and The Black Angels will serve as support at various tour stops.
Primus bassist and vocalist Les Claypool said: “Hemispheres was my first concert. Originally we’d always kind of joked around about doing Hemispheres, but we settled on A Farewell To Kings, because A) it was the first Rush record I ever heard and B) it contains ‘Cygnus X-1’, which has always been my favorite Rush tune. It seems to be a good one for us to tackle; 2112 seemed a little obvious.”
General public tickets are on sale now; full details are available at the band’s website.
