The 2023 CMT Music Awards has shared the addition of Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette, and Shania Twain to the star-studded lineup of performers.

Gwen Stefani will make her CMT debut with two-time nominee Carly Pearce, delivering a live rendition of what CMT describes as a “world premiere collaboration.” The performance will mark the pair’s first-ever on-stage collaboration.

Morissette’s appearance on the awards show stage will be her CMT Music Awards debut. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the CMT Next Women Of Country franchise, Morissette will take the stage alongside Next Women of Country alumni Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Madeline Edwards and Morgan Wade, plus Austin native Jackie Venson on guitar for a performance of her 1995 iconic female empowerment anthem, “You Oughta Know.”

Twain, who is the best-selling female artist of all time, will be presented with the third-ever CMT Equal Play Award. This award “recognizes an artist who is a visible and vocal advocate for elevating diverse and underrepresented voices in country music.” Previous recipients of the “CMT Equal Play Award” include Jennifer Nettles and Linda Martell.

The 2023 CMT Music Awards are set to air on Sunday night (April 2) from Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. The ceremony will air on CBS beginning at 8PM ET, and will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
